If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the past decade, it’s this—technology changes fast, but people and processes make or break projects.
From my early days in engineering and IT infrastructure to leading multi-million-dollar digital transformation projects, my career has been shaped by a simple truth: successful IT projects are never just about technology—they’re about execution, leadership, and adaptability.
Now, as a Project Manager in Dubai, I’ve worked across industries, from higher education, security, and enterprise IT, tackling everything from network security upgrades to large-scale cloud migrations and hybrid work transformations. But the journey here wasn’t straightforward. It was full of lessons, pivots, and moments of crisis that shaped my approach to leadership, risk management, and project execution.

Where It All Started: Engineering to Project Management
Like most in tech, I started my career on the technical side—working on IT infrastructure, security systems, and AV solutions. Back then, I was obsessed with how technology worked—how to build better networks, optimize security frameworks, and design resilient IT systems.
But one thing kept bugging me: Why do so many IT projects fail, even with the best technology in place?
That’s when I realized: technical expertise alone doesn’t drive success. It’s about how well projects are managed, how risks are anticipated, and how teams collaborate. That realization pulled me toward project management—and there’s been no turning back since.
From Managing IT Systems to Leading Transformation Projects
The shift to project management wasn’t just about climbing the career ladder. It was about taking responsibility for delivering real business outcomes—making sure projects didn’t just get completed but that they actually made an impact.
Some of the most challenging (and rewarding) projects I’ve led include:
✅ Network Infrastructure Overhaul – Upgrading firewalls, cybersecurity frameworks, and network infrastructure across multiple campuses.
✅ Hybrid Working Transformation – Rolling out a zero-carbon footprint IT strategy, ensuring teams had the right technology to work seamlessly.
✅ Cybersecurity & Compliance Integration – Implementing ISO 27001, ITSM frameworks, and risk-based security models to help businesses strengthen security postures.
✅ Change Management in IT – Leading global teams across multiple time zones, ensuring smooth transitions while minimizing resistance to change.
The biggest lesson? No matter how great a strategy looks on paper, if people don’t buy into it, it won’t work. Change management is just as critical as technical execution.
Dubai & the Future of IT Project Management
Dubai is one of the most exciting places to work in tech right now. With Smart City initiatives, AI-driven automation, and a booming digital economy, IT project managers are at the heart of major transformation efforts.
But with fast growth comes real challenges:
🚨 Cybersecurity threats are escalating – The UAE saw a 250% rise in ransomware attacks in the last two years.
🚨 Compliance requirements are tightening – UAE businesses need to align with NESA, ADHICS, GDPR & UAE Data Protection Law while going digital.
🚨 Agile project management is evolving – More companies are shifting from traditional project management to hybrid Agile models.
For IT leaders, the challenge is staying ahead of the curve—making sure we’re not just adopting new technologies but that we’re doing so securely, efficiently, and with the right governance in place.
Why I’m Starting This Blog
I’ve always believed that the best learning comes from real-world experience. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to work on some of the most complex IT projects, and I’ve learned just as much from the failures as from the successes.
This blog is a space where I’ll be sharing:
📌 Project management strategies – How to deliver high-stakes IT projects successfully.
📌 Cybersecurity best practices – Building secure & compliant IT environments.
📌 Digital transformation insights – Lessons from real-world IT initiatives.
📌 Leadership & change management tips – Navigating resistance & leading effective teams.
More importantly, I want this to be a place for discussion. If you’re in IT, project management, cybersecurity, or digital transformation, I’d love to connect, exchange ideas, and learn from each other.
Let’s Build Something Together
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be diving into how IT project managers can navigate Dubai’s fast-changing tech landscape—covering everything from cybersecurity governance to the future of Agile in enterprise IT.
If you’ve worked on a challenging IT project or are facing roadblocks in digital transformation, let’s talk.
